Birkirkara to face Hamrun on Friday
by Ayrton Galea - 28th October 2010Tomorrow evening Birkirkara will be involved in their sixth match of the BoV Premier League 2010-11, when they face in-form Hamrun Spartans.
Birkirkara are coming from their most terrible performance this season, when they were heavily beaten with a 5-2 result against Marsaxlokk. 'The Stripes' are currently 5th in the league standings, together with Floriana and Qormi. All three teams have seven points, and four points behind leaders Valletta.
On the other hand, Hamrun Spartans returned to winning ways in their last outing, when they beat Hibernians with a 4-3 result. "The Spartans" were enjoying a comfortable 4-0 lead, but Hibernians pulled 3 back. Hamrun are in second place jointly with Marsaxlokk with nine points each, and just two points away from the leaders.
For Birkirkara, Esequiel Lovizon, Alan Tabone, Rowen Muscat and Shaun Bajada are all still ruled due to injury.
In a recent interview with this website, Assistant Coach Branko Nisevic, made it clear that the squad must bounce back from the last match, while hoping that all supporters will stay united behind the team whatever happens.
The match will be played at the Victor Tedesco, in Hamrun and is scheduled to kick off at 19:30. Transport from Valley Road is available and it will leaves at 18:30
