Marcis Savinovs is Latvian and he was born on 3 May 1987. He joined Birkirkara FC in the 2011 Summer Transfer Window.
In 2008, Marcis joined FK Valmiera. In the same year he changed his team as he played one season for FS Metta LU.
In 2009 he joined FK Jaunîba where he spent one season. He played four matches, out of which in one of them he was included as a substitute. He also managed to find the net once.
In 2011 he joined Jelgava where he made one appearance. In the summer of the same year Birkirkara were looking for two central defenders to replace Andrei Agius and Nikola Vukanac. Marcis was one of the replacements for these two players and on Monday 20th June he signed a one year contract with Birkirkara.
His debut arrived in the same day in Birkirkara's first match in the Euro Cup when on the 78th minute he replaced Matt Clarke. Marcis had a good performance thanks to his defensive skills especially his precise heading.
