Ellinton Morais was born on the 30 March 1990 and the Brazilian striker joined our Club in the 2014 Summer Transfer Market.
Ellinton or as he is best known, Liliu, is best described as a prolific striker that he’s always in the right position inside the box. The Brazilian striker also enjoys fast speed and a good technique that makes him a complete striker.
His first experience of professional football was with the Belgian side of KVC Westerlo. He spent three years there where he made thirty-five appearances and scored nine goals. He then had short spells at Al Naser in Kuwaiit before returning to Brazil and played with CRB and Esporte Clube Rio Verde.
Season 2013-2014
In the 2013-2014 season, Liliu moved to Cyprus to join Ethnikos Achna. With the Cypriot Club, he enjoyed a good spell where he played fifteen matches and scored five goals.
However, in the January Transfer Market, he accepted an offer from Israel and joined Hapoel Ra’anana. With this Club, made seven appearances but failed to find the net.
Season 2014-2015
Birkirkara FC sought for new attacking foreigners in the 2014-2015 and one of their choices fell on Ellinton as the Brazilian forward who had joined our Club on trial left a very good impression. He signed a two-year contract with our Club on the 4 August 2014.
He made his debut in the first silverware won with our Club when he was included as a substitute on the 8 August 2014, in the BOV Super Cup that Birkirkara won with a 2-1 score against Valletta.
The Brazilian striker didn’t let down the expectations. The hunger for the goal established him as one of the most prolific strikers on the island. He ended his first season with our Club as the team’s top scorer in the BOV Premier League with thirteen goals from twenty-one appearances, in which he started eighteen matches while he was included as a substitute three times.
Season 2015-2016
Ellinton was retained in the next season and till the end of the year, he was one of the most regular players. In fact, he made twenty appearances and he scored three goals while he was voted the BOV player of the match once.
In January 2016, Birkirkara FC released Ellinton Morais on his request as he wished to play in a different country.
Ellinton joined our Club in the 2014 Summer Transfer Market and with our Club he made forty-five appearances, and scored nineteen goals. He won the BOV Super Cup and the FA Trophy with our Club, while he was part of the squad of this summer's UEFA Europa League campaign that saw the Stripes qualifying to the second round and dramatically beating West Ham United FC.
