Match Preview - Birkirkara Vs. Lija Athletic

Birkirkara FC will be all-out to register their second consecutive win in the BOV Premier League, when tomorrow they will take on Lija Athletic in a match that will be played at the National Stadium and kicks off at 18:00. The Stripes must win to keep the pace with the top three teams, while retain their fourth place in the standings after Sliema Wanderers have temporally leap-frog the Stripes with yesterday's victory against Santa Lucia. The Stripes are currently fifth with twenty-eight points, three points under Sliema but with a game in hand and three points under Gzira who are involved in a tricky match against Valletta.
Birkirkara are coming from two wins and a draw in their last three outings. Following a win with a 1-0 score against Mosta, a goal-less draw against Santa Lucia while a win with a 4-2 score against Sirens.
On the other hand, Lija Athletic are fifteenth with nine points. They suffered two defeat in their last three outings and in their last match, they won with a 2-1 score against Floriana.
In the first-round match, Birkirkara and Lija Athletic shared the spoils in a goal-less draw.
