by Ayrton Galea - 7th August 2018Birkirkara FC started their commitments in the mini-tournament qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League with a heavy defeat as group favourites WFC Kharkiv registered an impressive 8-0 score.
WFC Kharkiv proved to be too strong for the Stripes and opened a comfortable five-goal lead inside the first half thanks to a goal each by Yuliia Shevchuk, Daryna Apanaschenko, Nadiia Kunina and a brace by Ganna Voronina.
The Ukrainian powerful side another three goals in the second half as Nadiia Kunina added another goal to her name while substitutes Ganna Mozolska and Anna Petryk scored a goal each.
