Sportsmanship by Gonzalo Malan

Birkirkara FC forward Gonzalo Malan showed outstanding sportsmanship on Sunday afternoon, when the Uruguayan forward admitted with the referee that he had scored the goal with his hand.

The incident occurred on the twenty-sixth minute in the 3-0 victory's over Hamrun Spartans. Gonzalo Malan put the ball in the net for the opening goal. However, after a half-heartedly celebration, he admitted with the referee that he had touched the ball with his hand. Following this confession, the referee reversed his decision by cancelling the goal, and booked Malan.

The Club would like to congratulate Gonzalo for his sportsmanship and honesty, as these values go hand in hand with the Club's beliefs.
