Women Under-17's Team suffer first defeat
by Ayrton Galea - 27th November 2016Birkirkara FC Women Under-17's Team suffered the first defeat in the league, when they were beaten with a 3-1 score against Mosta FC.
After Sarah Urpani saw her shot blocked by the goalkeeper and hitting the post for the Stripes, Mosta surged ahead on the tenth minute with a long-distance shot that caught goalkeeper Anthea Enriquez out of her position.
Mosta added their second on the twenty-first minute with a shot from outside the box, but with immediate reaction, Birkirkara pulled one back two minutes later thanks to a direct free-kick by Veronique Mifsud.
At the start of the second-half, Mosta added their third with a diagonal shot and the score remained unchanged as the Blues inflicts Birkirkara's first defeat after five matches.
