Under-17's Team too strong for Hamrun Spartans
by Ayrton Galea - 6th November 2016Birkirkara FC Under-17's Team registered the first victory in the APS Bank Under-17's League Section A when in a one-sided match, they proved too strong for Hamrun Spartans and defeated them with a big 6-0 score.
The Stripes had a couple of chances in the opening minutes of play which were not capitalised into goals. Mid-way through the first half, Birkirkara took the lead following some neat combination play between Ayrton Attard and Karl Caruana which saw the latter beating the Hamrun custodian with a well-placed shot.
In the second half the Stripes were all over their opponents and managed to score five goals whilst keeping a clean sheet. Ayrton Attard notched a hat-trick with Paul Mbong and Christian Mula added their names to the score sheet.
The Under-17's Team will be involved in the next league match on Saturday against St. Andrew's where sole leadership will be at stake. The match will be played at the Rabat Ajax Grounds and it will kick off at 13:00.
