Steven Bonnici joins Birkirkara FC

Birkirkara FC continued to strengthen the squad in the last week of the Summer Transfer Market, as twenty-seven year old defender, Steven Bonnici signed a one-year contract with our Club.

Steven is a Melita FC product, but he made debut in the Premier League in 2008 with Floriana in the 2-1 defeat against Valletta. Following successful spells with Hamrun Spartans and Tarxien Rainbows, he returned with Floriana in August 2014. During the last two seasons, he was a regular choice and he made a total of fifty appearances.

Steven can play in any defensive position, and this will certainly give Coach Drazen Besek more options at the back. Bonnici is the fourth Maltese player to join the Club during this transfer market following Andreas Vella, Shaun Bajada and James Brincat.
