Mauricio Mazzetti released

Birkirkara FC has released Argentine player Mauricio Mazzetti. This was done at the request of the player due to personal issues.

Mauricio has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in Malta. Brought over to Malta by Qormi in the 2014 Summer Transfer Market, the Argentine defender was quick to confirm his potential. He joined our Club in the 2015 January Transfer Market on a permanent move.

With our Club, Mazzetti enjoyed two positive seasons, with the first one remains a special one as the Stripes lifted the fifth FA Trophy in history with a 2-1 score against Hibernians with Mazzetti scoring the opening goal with a wonderful bicycle kick. During his spell with our Club, he made fourty-six appearances and scored six goals.
