Under-15's Team back to winning ways
by Ayrton Galea - 13th March 2016Birkirkara FC Under-15's Team returned to winning ways and extended their unbeaten run to nine matches in the APS Bank Under-15's League Section A when a brace by Ryan Tonna handed them a narrow 2-1 victory over Hamrun Spartans FC.
All the three goals were scored in space of five minutes. Ryan Tonna surged the Stripes ahead on the fifty-seventh minute but Hamrun were quick to bring the score level just two minutes later. However, on the sixty-second minute, the Stripes regained the lead thanks to another goal by Tonna and the Stripes held strong for an important victory.
Thanks to this victory, the Stripes are alone in the third place as Hibernians were defeated by leaders Pieta Hotspurs with a 2-1 score. They are leading the table with 33 points followed by St. Andrew's with 30. The Stripes have twenty points, three points over Hibernians, six over Qormi, nine over Mosta and ten over Hamrun Spartans and sixteen over bottom-placed Balzan.
