Ryan Camenzuli wins BOV Player of the month for December
by Ayrton Galea - 6th January 2016Birkirkara FC Youth Academy product Ryan Camenzuli's electrifying performances as of late, has certainly caught the eye of all the Maltese Football followers, and the twenty-one year old winger has been awarded the BOV Best Player for the month of December.
It has been a good month for Camenzuli who stepped up his performances and established himself as an inspiring figure for the Stripes throughout the last month of the year. During this month, he won the BOV Player of the Match twice and scored three goals in four matches.
Bernard Azzopardi, Manager of Bank of Valletta's Birkirkara Branch presented the BOV Player of the Month trophy for December 2015 to Camenzuli who chose id-Dar tal-Providenza to benefit from the donation associated with this award.
His goal was the match-winner against Tarxien Rainbows, as the match ended 1-0 score for the Stripes. On the other hand, he broke the deadlock in the 3-0 victory over Pembroke Athleta. He then sealed the issue with a wonderful solo action goal in the last match that saw the Stripes win with a 3-0 score against Mosta.
We spoke with Ryan about this award. Ryan started humbly by mentioning his team mates. “I am very happy for winning this award but this is dedicated to them. I won this award thanks to their continuous help and without them it wouldn't be possible.”
“This award motivates me a lot. I was aware that I had very good performances in December but I wasn't expecting it. I still consider myself as a young player and knowing the big competition in our league, especially with the introduction of more foreigners, I landed this award as a big surprise.
Given the nod for an advanced role on the left flank, Ryan has been terrific thanks to his speed and technique. Ryan said “I am very comfortable playing in this position. It is my preferred role. I am looking very forward to continue improving my performances, and my targets remain to win every remaining honour with this Club. “
