Youth Academy U15's and U17's Teams to play in Section A

Birkirkara FC Youth Academy's Under 15 and Under 17 teams both confirmed their place in the Section A of their respective leagues, when on Sunday morning they each notched their third win in a row.

The heavy investment in the Academy during the last years is leaving the desired results, as can be evidenced by the Under 15's and Under 17's teams winning all their matches in the knock-out phase.

The Academy's investment in a professional setup made up of qualified coaches and assistant coaches, together with a physical trainer and goalkeeper's coach, under the guidance of Head Coach Mark Bondin was proven to be correct. The Academy also decided to find full sized pitches for the training of these teams, which also left a positive impact.

The Under-15's Team is once again led by coach John Vella assisted by David Zammit. On Sunday morning they confirmed their Section A status by beating Sliema Wanderers with a narrow 1-0 score. Before facing the Wanderers, the Stripes defeated Pembroke Athleta with a 2-0 score and Msida St. Joseph with a comfortable 6-0 score.

The Under-17's Team is now under the new guidance of coach Thane Micallef assisted by Malachy Portelli and on Sunday morning they also defeated Sliema Wanderers, with a 2-1 score. In the first two matches, they registered two comfortable victories as they defeated Santa Lucia FC with a 9-0 score and Tarxien Rainbows with a 6-0 score.
