Heidi Kjaer - Fourth signing for the Birkirkara FC Women's Team
by Ayrton Galea - 16th September 2015Birkirkara FC Women's Team remained one of the most active Clubs before the start of the 2015-2016 season when just a few moments ago, they completed the fourth signing, when Danish striker Heidi Kjaer joined our Club.
Heidi, who has been training with our Club for the last weeks, is a twenty-four year old striker who was last playing for Taarnby FF in the Danish League. She also enjoyed positive spells at Hellas BK, Holbaek B&I and Asnaes BK before joining Taarnby in February 2014.
We spoke with, Heidi and she explained how she got to our Club. “I was given the opportunity through a friend from my studies here. He got me in touch with the team and as from the first session, I was so happy with the team.”
She added, “I am expecting to push myself to a new level and learn from a different style of playing. For me it's also about improving my weak sides. As for the club, I am expecting to learn something of the football culture here at Malta”
Coming from a completely different level of play, where football in Denmark involved more physical aspect rather than a technical one, Heidi said, I'm settling very well! I am getting used to the turf, the softer ball and the amazing quick play of footballers from Malta.”
She concluded by saying, “I'm looking forward to the time of my life here at Malta with my new teammates and my new club while I hope we be the best team of the league this year and compete in the UEFA Women's Champions league.”
We would like to welcome Heidi while wishing her all the best of luck in her adventure with our Club.
