Women's team to face Hibernians
by Ayrton Galea - 21st October 2014Last season's main title contenders, Birkirkara and Hibernians will be seeking to lay down an early marker in the BOV Women's First Division League when they will cross swords in a direct clash this evening.
Two weeks ago, Hibernians captured the first honour of this season by winning the BOV Women's Super Cup thanks to two goals in the extra-time period against Birkirkara. However, the Stripes gave a determined performance that saw them leaving the stadium with heads held high.
Both teams have won maximum points in the opening match of the league. Birkirkara defeated Swieqi Untied with a very comfortable 9-1 score, while Hibernians scored a goal in each half to defeat Pembroke Athleta with a 2-0 score.
Birkirkara are expected to be in full strength, bar Rebecca Chircop who has been missing for the last three months due to an injury.
The match will be played at the Centenary Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 20:00.
We would like to encourage all the Birkirkara supporters to come and support the Women's Team.
Come on the Stripes!
