Birkirkara Under-17's suffered their third consecutive defeat on Saturday afternoon. Their fine performance was not enough to leave the Siggiewi Grounds with something to show for their efforts, as St. Andrew's came from behind to win the match 3-1.

Similar to the recent games, Birkirkara started the game in a strong mode and managed to hold Luxol back in their own half. In the opening minutes Luxol were constrained to clear the ball off the line by their last defender in order to keep the score at 0-0.

Momens later, the Stripes managed to open the score thanks to Darren Buttigieg, from the second consecutive free kick won by the Stripes. Birkirkara kept pressuring Luxol, and soon won another corner. This time Zachary Cassar was denied from adding another goal in the Stripes' favour by the woodwork.

After the initial Yellow-Red barrage, Luxol started settling down and dominating possession. In the later stages of the first half, Luxol manage to equalise the score through a direct free kick.

The second half continued on the same flow of play as Luxol dominated possession in the middle of the pitch, but did not manage to create dangerous goal scoring chances. The Stripes on the other end only managed the odd chance.

Six minutes from time, Luxol won a ball in the middle of the pitch, and after a long ball they managed to make the most of the Stripes' miscommunication at the back. In the very late stages of the game Luxol managed to add another through another direct free kick. The referee soon brought the game to an end.
