Matheus Bissi suspended

The Malta Football Association has announced that Brazilian defender Matheus Bissi will be suspended for next Sunday's clash against Valletta in the highly-anticipated match.

Matheus was sent off just before the half-time whistle in the 1-0 narrow defeat against Hibernians for a double booking in quick succession.

We talked with the Brazilian defender following this incident, and he had this message for the Club's supporters. “First of all, I would like to thank everyone who has been always supporting us. You are amazing! I would also like to apologise for what happened in the last game. I know my mistake and that I harmed a lot the team. Because of that, I would like to apologise to my team mates and to all Birkirkara Family. As someone already told me, saying sorry doesn't fix anything. But you can be sure that what happened will be a lesson learned in my career and will not happen again. You can be sure it will make me stronger to work even better every day to give happiness to all of you, because that's what you deserve!
