UWCL Tournament - Malta 2012. Thank You

The organisation of the UEFA Women Champions League event in Malta was a unique experience and an absolutely fabulous event for our club. It has inscribed a new milestone for Birkirkara and the Maltese football in general.
This experience was remarkable and a great team building exercise. We all learned something about each other and ourselves. I really loved the hands-on approach by all those involved in the organisation - it really felt like a team effort. We all had a wonderful time and I feel that I must say ‘Thank you all' for such an experience. All those involved provided an outstanding service that was both excellent and professional.
Our guests were equally happy to participate in this first round and officials from the three clubs from Portugal, Romania and Ireland showered us with compliments for the excellent organization. This was the first time that we organised something like this and their comments were so flattering for us. I am happy to say that everyone left the country fully delighted.
This event would not have been possible without the support of the Malta Football Association that offered all the help without any reservation. Special thanks go to the MFA President Mr. Norman Darmanin Demajo, Chief Executive Officer Mr. Bjorn Vassallo, and the Technical Director of the women national team Mr Pierre Brincat.
Of course, my heartfelt appreciation goes to my staff. They were simply amazing. I must say that this was one of the best ever team-building exercise for an event that our club has ever had. Special thanks go to the organising committee and the liaison officers who were in charge of the foreign guests. They were simply fabulous and they did not leave one stone unturned to support our club to come out with flying colours.
I would also like to show my gratitude to our main kit sponsors Eurosport for the support they have given us and to the staff of the Victoria Hotel who were very helpful and professional throughout. Thanks also go to the Hon. Minister Mr. Tonio Fenech for his indispensable help through the National Lotteries Good Causes Fund for making this event possible.
Last but not least, a big ‘Thank You' to my colleagues of the administration and to our girls who formed part of the Birkirkara FC Women Team together with their administrative, coaching and technical staff.
