Season 2012-2013 to kick off on 20 June
by Ayrton Galea - 29th May 2012The 2012-2013 season will be kicking off on the 20th June with the Euro Cup which serves as a preparation for the UEFA competitions matches. Besides Birkirkara, league champions Valletta, U*BET FA Trophy winners Hibernians and fourth placed Floriana will also be taking part in this competition.
The Euro Cup will kick off with the first match on Wednesday, 20 June and will end on Friday, 29 June. Matches on the 20, 21, 25 and 26 June will be played at the Centenary Stadium, while those scheduled for the 28 and 29 June will be played at the Hibernians Stadium. Kick off times are still to be announced.
The first day of the BOV Premier League will be played between Thursday, 16 and Sunday, 19 August. The first phase will end on Sunday, 10 February and the second phase will kick off on Friday, 22 February. The last match of the league will be played on Saturday, 4 May. Draws for the league will be held on Saturday, 30 June.
The U*BET FA Trophy will kick off on 7 August. The first round will be played between 7 to 9 August. The second round will be played between 19 to 21 October. The third round, which will see Birkirkara entering the fray, will be played between 30 November and 2 December. The fourth round should take place between 21 and 23 January. The quarter finals are scheduled for the 16 and 17 February. The semi finals will be played on the 10 and 11 May. The final will be played on19 May.
The Youths' league will kick off with the first match from Sections C and D on the 3 September. The first matches from Section A, where Birkirkara are competing and Section B will be played on the 12 September. The last matches from Section A will be played on the 25 April.
The Women's Super Cup,will see the unbeaten league champions Birkirkara face trophy knock-out winners Mosta on Monday, 10 September.
The Women's League will kick-off on the 18 September and will come to an end on the 23 April. The Women's knock-out will be played between the 30 April and the 21 May.
