Interview with Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza

by Ayrton Galea - 22nd March 2012

This week we decided to talk with a player that joined our team in the January Transfer Market, Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza.

Without any doubt, Jean Pierre is not a new face in the Birkirkara team, as he already had a successful spell with us, when he won several honours including the Premier League in 2006.

Who is Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza?

I'm 30 years old, and I live in Msida, and I'm a friendly person.

What's your relationship status?

I've been married to my wife Annalise for nearly 2 years.

How do you spend your regular day?

Work in the morning and football training in the evening.

How do you spend your weekends?

I usually spend my weekends with my family, unless we have training or a football match.

What are your main hobbies besides football?

Besides football, during my free time I like watching TV especially documentaries.

What kind of music do you like?

All types of music, but my favourite group of all times is Queen.

What is your favourite food?

Pasta.

Do you follow international football? If yes, which is your favourite nation when it comes to football, and which is your favourite foreign Club?

Italy, and my favourite club is Milan

Who were your football heroes when you were growing up? And who are your football heroes now?

When I was young my favourite player was Maradona. My favourite player now is Messi.

Who is your favourite striker?

My favourite striker is Ibrahimovic.

Which is your all time favourite match with our Club and why?

The match against Valletta in the 2006 Quarter final Trophy, which we won 3-0 and I scored twice.

Which is your favourite goal that you scored for Birkirkara? Why?

It was in the 2005/2006 season in a match against Marsaxlokk. I scored and we drew, which was a step closer to winning the League.

Which is the most memorable honour that you won with our Club? Why?

In my career I won a lot of titles, but the most memorable one was when we won the league 2005/2006.

Why did you return to Birkirkara FC?

I like the atmosphere at Birkirkara and when the club showed interest in me I accepted straight away.

After almost two months with our Club, how are you feeling?

As I was already here a few years ago, it wasn't difficult at all for me to integrate with my team mates, as they made me feel welcome.

What are your comments about our last match against Valletta?

We knew that it was a difficult match, but we worked hard for it and in my opinion we deserved more than a draw.

In the last two matches, you were not included in the starting line-up. What happened?

I had a slight injury in my ankle but now I'm 100% for next game against Hibs.

What are your comments about our next match?

I believe that we can win this game if we work together as a team, and remain focused throughout the game.

After climbing to the third place we now seem to be on the right-track. What should be done to stay consistent?

Every game has to be played like it is a final.

How important are the supporters for you and do you have a message for them?

Supporters are very important for us. They give us courage even when the team won't be going through a good phase. My message for them is to continue supporting the team as they always did.
