Leighton Grech loaned out to Vittoriosa Stars

Leighton Grech is the second Maltese player to leave the squad in this transfer market as the Under 21 International winger was loaned out to the First Division side, Vittoriosa Stars till the end of the season.

Leighton was the first acquisition last summer for Birkirkara after having a very fine season with Vittoriosa Stars. He joined our Club on Friday, 17 June.

He made his official debut with Birkirkara in the first game of the season, in the Euro Cup against Floriana where 'The Stripes' shared the spoils with Floriana in a goal-less draw.

In the Premier League, Leighton found it difficult to win a regular place with Birkirkara and despite making 15 appearances, only in six of them was he selected with the first eleven.
