Gareth Sciberras joins Birkirkara FC

Gareth Sciberras is the latest acquisition for Birkirkara as today the former Marsaxlokk midfielder has signed a three years contract.

Gareth began his Premier League adventure with Pieta Hotspurs in the 2001-2002 season, and he spent four seasons with 'The Hotspurs'. With Pieta Hotspurs he made 85 appearances and managed to score four goals.

In the 2004-2005 season he joined Marsaxlokk. With Marsaxlokk he had a very successful six season spell where he managed to establish himself as one of the best midfielders on the Island. With the south-seasiders he made no less than 103 appearances and scored nine goals in the Premier League. His most memorable season with Marsaxlokk is definitely the 2006-2007 season when they managed to win the Championship for the first time ever.

Registration of players for the UEFA Europea League have closed, however, clubs are allowed one change to the list. This means that Birkirkara can still amend the list of the players and include today's signing for Thursday's match.
