Paul Zammit's pre-match comments
by Ayrton Galea - 13th October 2010In anticipation of next Friday's game against eternal rivals, Valletta FC, we have asked Head Coach Paul Zammit to give us a few words.
Mr. Zammit started on a positive thought. 'Since the start of the season, we have never, as yet had our full squad at our disposal due to various circumstances, and I hope that from now onwards we shall be at full force.' He continues, 'I believe in all of our 22 players and it is very important to have them all available in each game.'
Mr. Zammit proceeds by saying, 'We have to keep working harder to perform better every time. We've had positive performances which gave us good results in 2 of our 3 league games played so far. As we all know, this coming Friday we shall be facing a main challenger, such as ourselves; a team that has invested a lot in the last few years. Birkirkara vs Valletta is always a Cup tie and we are all expecting a tough challenge. We have to be at our best and make it our day, but to achieve this we need to work very hard, be tactically disciplined and show great determination.'
He finished off with a message directed to all 'The Stripes' supporters, stating that throughout last season, they were all of enormous help. 'Their support gave us all that extra strength we needed to win games. I really do believe that our supporters have a very big merit in Birkirkara's victory of the championship last season.'
He went on by saying; 'Once again, I would like to take this opportunity to say "Thank You". It is a new season, we have new challenges and we all have to work even harder to make great achievements at Birkirkara FC.'
In an appeal for all of our support in next Friday's game, our coach concluded with, 'We need to see as many of you as possible being our 12th man. We need your support in good times and bad, because your support makes us stronger and we need you with us in every game. The players and myself are always looking forward to seeing, and feeling, the Birkirkara FC crowd supporting our team.'
We wish our team the best of luck for next Friday and hope that all of you supporters heed the Coach's words and join us in unison to support our team.
