Stern Hibs. challenge awaits Birkirkara
by Matthaeus Grasso - 17th January 2010A tough challenge by Hibernians awaits Birkirkara, as on Monday, the boys in Stripes face the Paolites in an eagerly anticipated BOV Premier League fixture.
After Valletta's 1-0 victory over Qormi, the 'Citizens' are back in first place, but if our side manages to win tomorrow's match, Birkirkara's name will be back at the top, right where it deserves to be.
Hibernians have been our side's boogey team for the past couple of fixtures, as Birkirkara's last victory over this team dates back to the 11th of May 2007, when our side emerged victorious by a 2-0 score line.
Missing in the squad will be George Mallia and Joseph Zerafa, with the latter sustaining a bad injury during Thursday's training session. Birkirkara FC manager Mr.Paul Zammit will have to perform last-minute fitness tests on Shaun Bajada and Paul Fenech to deem if they will be fit for selection.
With the disappointing attendance in the Birkirkara side for our last encounter against Dingli S., it is imperative for us to urge all of you to come to the Ta' Qali National Stadium in big numbers and bring along with you your family members and friends, so that together we can create a wonderful atmosphere whilst supporting our team during this important stage of the league.
We also strongly suggest that you bring along with you flags, banner, scarves and all that club-related material, which can help in boosting the stadium experience even further.
No matter the weather, see you there!
