On Saturday, Birkirkara managed to secure a precious point against Sliema W., which means that the 'Stripes' will now surely play in next year's edition of the UEFA Europa League qualification round.
The match between the third and fourth-placed teams of the BOV Premier League proved to be very low-key as the result itself suggests. The best chance of the match fell to Birkirkara's Trevor Cilia after just six minutes, when from about thirty metres out, the midfielder hit the crossbar.
There wasn't much more else to report in this well-balanced match, with the referee's full-time whistle signaling the fact that Birkirkara have placed third for the second consecutive year.
